Purpose and Process of our Studies

Our Purpose

Seek and Find studies are specifically designed to teach individuals the fundamental skills they need to become better students of the Bible; able to read and understand any portion of Scripture with greater clarity.

Our Process

To achieve this purpose, each study is divided into three distinct parts: Listen, Lean In, and Learn

LISTEN
First, you “Listen” to God’s voice through an individual time of study in God’s word, using the questions provided in our study guides. These questions teach you to implement three fundamental skills that will enable you to better understand any portion of Scripture.

  • Comprehend:  You examine what the text says.

  • Interpret:  You discover what the text means.

  • Apply:  You learn to recognize and respond to what the Lord is speaking to you, personally, through the text.

LEAN IN
After you have individually studied the assigned portion of text by answering the “Listen” questions, you will then “Lean In” to community through small group discussion of the text.  During this time, a group leader facilitates an exploration of what group members discovered through their time of independent study.

LEARN
Finally, after listening to God’s word through independent study, and leaning into community through small group discussion, you will continue to “Learn” through a large group teaching on the text. During this session, a teacher will help you understand how it all fits together, clarify any confusion, and challenge you in your application of the material.
